We were expecting a nice big update from Sony to add some new features, updates to the browser, PSN and more PSP title support. Maybe flash support in the browser, copy and paste support? But nooooo instead we get caps lock on the keyboard and that is the most significant thing that was updated. Big let down Sony. No to mention the pulled 1.65 update added a new ad-hoc bug. 1.66 fixes that at least. As expected it blocks the Motor Storm VHBL exploit and Everybody’s Tennis VHBL save game exploit. We knew that was coming….

PS Vita Firmware 1.66 Release notes 

• A “Notification Alert” option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
• “After 10 minutes” will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
• An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea
• Caps Lock will be supported in the On Screen Keyboard

PlayStation Vita's firmware was updated to version 1.65 today. As detailed at the Vita official site, the update adds the following:

• Toggle notifications on and off from the sound and display settings menu. If on, the system will alert you when new stuff arrives.
• You can set Auto Standby to 10 minutes
• When you have new activities, the game's Live Arena area will show this via an orange arrow.
• Bug fixes for Unit 13 and Dynasty Warriors Next
• Depending on the language, you can double tap shift to set the input to caps lock. To cancel caps lock, press shift once more.
